He made his debut in Theater trained by the master Rafael Reyeros, and later he specialized in the Lyric Theater gender. He has worked in more than 80 pieces and he has received several awards: Premio Carlos, as Best Scenography for “Discepolín”; Premio Nacional del Artista, for “Calígula”; Premio Municipal de Teatro, for “Israfel and Calígula”; Premio TIN, for “Zaperoco”; Premio Nacional del Artista, Best Wardrobe for “Cómicos”. He also works as Art Director of features films and short advertisement productions for Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Mexico, USA, Germany, Holand, Greece, and Argentina. He has produced more than 200 hundred commercials, for which he has won several awards, such as, the New York Festival Bronze World Medal ´97 Best Art Direction. He is also well know as an Art Director in feature films as “El General y la Fiebre” (1993) from Jorge Coscia; “Cien Años de Perdón” in 1998, from Alejandro Saderman; “Jennifer´s Shadow” in 2004, with Faye Dunaway; “Puras Joyitas” (2007), from Henry Rivero and César Oropeza; the worldwide acclaimed and winner of an Academy Award “El Secreto de sus Ojos” (2009), from Juan José Campanella; “La Hora Cero” (2010), from Diego Velasco; “Piedra, Papel o Tijera” from Hernán Jabes (2012), and “Azul, y No Tan Rosa” from Miguel Ferrari (2012). He has won the Premio ANAC 1999 as Best Art Direction in Film for “Cien Años de Perdón”. The Premio Municipal 2008 as Best Art Direction and the Award to Best Art Directionat the Venezuelan Film festival of Mérida 2008 for “Puras Joyitas”. Premio Sur 2009 as Best Art Director for “El Secreto de sus Ojos”. He was nominated on the Premios Goya, the Premios Cóndor de Plata 2010 as Best Art Director for “El Secreto de sus Ojos”, and winner of an Academy Award and Premios Goya as Best Foreign Language Film.
